Full payment of all fees is required to complete registration. Due to shortened timelines in summer, your bill may come after fees are due. Refer to the Summer Session Calendar for due dates and important deadlines.

Non-resident (out of state) students: All UC undergraduate students pay the same tuition rate in the Summer regardless of their status of out of state, non-residential, or international. There is no difference between CA resident or out of state students. All Visiting Students pay the same tuition rate regardless of their status as well.

UC San Diego Summer Session Cost Calculator
Summer Session lets you take classes online or in-person at a faster pace than the fall, winter, and spring quarters. Use this calculator to estimate your summer tuition and campus fee expenses. Simply enter your enrollment type, followed by the total number of units you wish to take during Summer 2025 and how many sessions you will take.

Special Note about Campus-Based Fees:
Students registered in all three Summer Sessions (Session 1, Session 2, and Special Session) within the same calendar year will automatically be refunded one set of campus-based fees. Eligible students will be refunded once Summer is over.
UC San Diego Summer Tuition Benefit and Summer Resources
UC San Diego undergraduates pay a flat tuition rate per academic year to cover fall, winter, and spring quarter tuition (12–22 units per quarter). To calculate potential savings, divide your annual tuition by 3 to obtain your quarterly expenses, and subtract that value from the estimated cost of summer enrollment.
***During the summer, all UC San Diego undergraduates pay the same fees, regardless of their residency status. This means that all international students, and non- residents of California enjoy the same unit rate as California residents.***
No matter your residency status, summer can be cost-effective if it helps you graduate earlier and avoid future flat-rate quarters. All savings are estimates; students are responsible for evaluating their own cost-benefit scenarios.
Only tuition and campus fees are included; other costs (e.g., housing, health insurance, books), as well as individual aid and/or grant funding are excluded. Consider financial aid and visa requirements carefully.
