Dropping Courses

How do I drop a course?

Students can drop classes in two ways. Students can either go to Web Reg and drop classes or they can fill out a drop card and turn it in to the Registrar's Office.

If it if your only class, you'll need to withdraw from the session.  (Graduate students please see the section for graduate students at the bottom of this page.)  Please check the deadlines calendar to ensure you are within the timeline allowed to drop your course.  Once the deadline is passed, you will need to petition to drop your course.  For more information regarding petitions, please see the Undergraduate Student Petition Form.

How do I drop all of my classes? (Withdraw from a summer session)

If you are not receiving financial aid in the summer, you have two options to drop all of your classes. You can either go to Web Reg and drop your class there or you can fill drop cards and turn them in to the Registrar's Office.

If you are a financial aid student, you MUST fill out a withdrawal form and return it to the Registrar's Office. You will be able to drop all but your last class on-line or with a drop card but you will be required to use the withdrawal form in order to drop the last class in a session. If you attempt to drop your last class after the Registrar's Office is closed, you can fax in the form or slip it under the door of the office. Forms will be honored as of the day they are received. The Registrar fax number is (858) 534-5723.  For further details, please see the Summer 2009 Withdrawal Instructions.
